What it does
BetterLoot replaces Rust's loot tables with your own weighted lists per container type — crates, barrels, food boxes. Servers use it to make early game faster, remove junk, or theme loot. It is powerful but blunt: it takes over loot entirely rather than tweaking it.
RGZ compatibility verdict
Loads on Carbon, but because it hardcodes item lists, every Facepunch update that adds/removes/renames an item can throw errors until you refresh the loot table. This is the plugin most likely to spam your console after a wipe.
Known conflicts & gotchas
- Any second loot-table plugin (AlphaLoot, custom loot) will fight BetterLoot — run exactly one loot manager.
- Components vs items: check the config still matches current Rust item shortnames after big updates.
If it won't load
Most "BetterLootnot loading" reports come down to the wrong folder, a version mismatch after a monthly update, or a missing dependency. Work through Carbon plugins not loading — it's the ordered checklist.
