The storyline for Season of the Witch reached its climax this week, and with Eris Morn’s cunning campaign being a big success, you’re going to want to stock up for the battles ahead. Fortunately, roaming arms dealer Xur is back in our cosmic neighborhood, and has brought with him a fresh selection of weapons and armor. Here’s where Xur is this week and what he has for sale.
This week you can find Xur in The Tower, inside the Hangar. For his weapon, Xur is offering SUROS Regime. Hunters can pick up the Sixth Coyote armor; Titans can grab the Actium War Rig armor; and Warlocks can buy the Contraverse Hold gauntlets.
Xur Location
Spawn in using the Courtyard transmat zone in the Tower to find Xur this week. Head left and down the stairs to enter the Hangar section, then hang another left. Make your way to the north end of the area and look for a staircase that will take you onto a catwalk, where Xur is waiting.
Xur Exotic and Legendary Items
- Exotic Engram – 97 Legendary Shards
- SUROS Regime – 29 Legendary Shards
- Actium War Rig -23 Legendary Shards
- The Sixth Coyote – 23 Legendary Shards
- Contraverse Hold – 23 Legendary Shards
- Hawkmoon – 200 Legendary Shards, 125,000 Glimmer, 1 Ascendant Shard, 1 Exotic Cipher
- Xenology quest – Free
- Legendary weapons and armor – 50 Legendary Shards, 1,000 Glimmer
Xur also offers the Xenology quest every week, which requires you to complete 21 Vanguard Ops or win Crucible and Gambit matches so that you can earn an Exotic Cipher. These are normally used to buy old Exotics from a kiosk in the Tower, but beginning this season, you’ll be able to spend them at Master Rahool to get the Exotics that you want. The cap on Exotic Ciphers has also increased, as you’ll now be able to hold up to five of them at a time.
Exotic Armor
Actium War Rig (Exotic Titan armor)
Actium War Rig is one of those fun Titan Exotics where you can let loose on a battlefield if you happen to enjoy using auto rifles and machine guns. With the Sweet Business Exotic, you’re basically free to unleash a hail of lead at anything in your general direction, and when backed by other Guardians, it can be used to chop down tough enemies. Auto-Loading Link reloads a portion of your equipped auto rifle or machine gun from reserves, so you can keep firing for longer. This roll has some pretty great stats, at it’s not often that we see Xur offer a Titan Exotic that has a grand total of 70 more. Strength and recovery is pretty great, intellect isn’t too bad, and resilience is average. If you’re planning to lob some grenades, you will want to invest in some mods for this chest armor.
- Mobility: 3
- Resilience: 11
- Recovery: 23
- Discipline: 2
- Intellect: 12
- Strength: 20
- Total: 71
The Sixth Coyote (Exotic Hunter armor)
The Sixth Coyote looks cool, but it has a single function perk that’s easily overshadowed by other Hunter Exotics. All you get with this Exotic is a second dodge charge, which isn’t too bad if you’re planning to enter PvP or you have a detailed Void build that can proc dodges with other weapon perks to deliver some devastating offense. The stats are quite nice though, as there’s a mostly even spread across all categories. Mobility, recovery, and strength get the highest numbers here, while resilience and intellect are on the below-average side.
- Mobility: 14
- Resilience: 9
- Recovery: 13
- Discipline: 10
- Intellect: 7
- Strength: 15
- Total: 68
Contraverse Hold (Exotic Warlock gauntlets)
Chaotic Exchanger gives Warlocks a damage resistance boost when they begin charging their Void grenade, and when used, hits from those explosives will return grenade energy. This is a nice beginner Exotic for Destiny 2 newcomers or Void speciliasts, but there are better options and builds available if you want to quickly charge up grenade energy. For the stats, these gauntlets have solid resilience, discipline, and intellect, but strength and mobility are terrible, and recovery is average.
- Mobility: 2
- Resilience: 22
- Recovery: 12
- Discipline: 17
- Intellect: 12
- Strength: 2
- Total: 67
Exotic Weapons
SUROS Regime (Exotic auto rifle)
A classic that can be traced back to the days of vanilla Destiny, SUROS Regime is a mult-functional auto rifle that you can customize to suit your needs. If you want to blast away with reckless abandon, the Spinning Up perk will increase your rate of fire the longer you hold the trigger down. Prefer something more precise? Dual Speed Receiver lowers the rate of fire while increasing damage as you aim down the sights. On top of that, SUROS Legacy allows for the bottom half of a magazine to deal bonus damage and there’s a chance to return health on a kill.
- SUROS Legacy
- Spinning Up
- Dual Speed Receiver
- Hammer-Forged Rifling
- Tactical Mag
- Hand-Laid Stock
Hawkmoon (Exotic hand cannon)
After a pretty good roll of Hawkmoon last week, Xur has brought a lemon with him this week. Hip-Fire Grip increases accuracy, stability, and precision hit target when firing from the hip, but that’s a perk that doesn’t gel well at all with Hawkmoon or the rest of the traits on this build. You ca comfortably skip the Exotic hand cannon this week.
- Paracausal Shot
- Corkscrew Rifling
- Alloy Magazine
- Hip-Fire Grip
- Polymer Grip

Xur is present every weekend in Destiny 2, starting with the daily reset at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET each Friday. His exact location is always a mystery when he first arrives, as he is not listed on the map, and for novice players, he can be easy to miss. However, there are a set number of locations where he takes up residence, including the Tower Hangar area, on Nessus in Watcher’s Grave, and in the Winding Cove area of the EDZ.
