Netflix’s Dragon Age: Absolution Trailer And First-Look Images Take Us Deep Into Tevinter

Fans of BioWare’s Dragon Age series are in for a treat, as Netflix has released the first trailer and images for Dragon Age: Absolution. Arriving on December 9, the series will take place over six 30-minute episodes, and the new trailer gives us a bit more insight into the show.

From Red Dog Culture House studio and BioWare, the premiere trailer introduces us to Miriam (Kimberly Brooks), an elven mercenary who was once enslaved as she rises to become a hero. She joins a group of experienced adventurers to steal an artifact that’s dangerous and fueled by blood magic. Of course, they’re not the only people who want to get their hands on this item. Check out the action-packed trailer below.

The official synopsis for Dragon Age: Absolution reads, “When a heist against the most powerful man in Tevinter goes south, an elven mercenary named Miriam (Kimberly Brooks) is forced into a desperate fight for survival. Now, to save herself and her friends, Miriam will have to confront the tragic past she’s spent a lifetime trying to escape.”

In addition to Brooks, the series features Matthew Mercer (Critical Role) as Fairbanks, Ashly Burch (Horizon Zero Dawn) as Qwydion, Sumalee Montano (Ghost of Tsushima) as Hira, Phil LaMarr (Futurama) as Rolan, and more. The series is directed by Ki Yong Bae (The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf) and is written by Mae Catt (50 States of Fright), Tim Sheridan (Batman: The Long Halloween movie), and Mairghread Scott (Guardians of the Galaxy TV series).

In addition to the new trailer and cast list, the first images and a poster were revealed by Netflix, which you can see below.

The Dragon Age series made its debut in 2009 with Dragon Age: Origins and was developed by BioWare and published by EA. The role-playing game is a fantasy series where a player takes the role of one of three classes in a battle of good against evil. To date, there have been three games in main Dragon Age series: Origins, Dragon Age II, and Inquisition.

A fourth main series game is on the horizon with Dragon Age: Dreadwolf. Recently, the upcoming game passed a development milestone, with BioWare GM Gary McKay stating that it has passed the alpha stage of development. At this time, there is no release date set for Dreadwolf.
