How To Get The Free Chevrolet Corvette In Fortnite And Rocket League

Epic Games’ Summer Road Trip, a special event taking place across both Fortnite and Rocket League, has returned for a second time, and it’s bringing with it another free licensed vehicle that players can unlock via quests. This year’s free car is a Chevrolet Corvette ZR1–a much more appealing vehicle than last year’s big reward, the Tesla Cybertruck.

As with last year’s version of the event, the Summer Road Trip offers quests to unlock the Corvette in both Rocket League and Fortnite. You don’t need to play both games, though, because both sets of quests unlock the car. There are, however, additional rewards that are only earnable through each game, so if you want to get all the free stuff, you will have to play them both.

Most of the rewards for these quests, including the car, will land in the item shops of both Fortnite and Rocket League after the event ends. But the Corvette has an exclusive decal, the ZR1 Circuit decal, that will only ever be available by earning the car during this event.

Fortnite Summer Road Trip rewards

The Fortnite path for the Summer Road Trip includes several items that you won’t earn by playing Rocket League. Most are just sprays, but there are some other items you’ll collect along the way. Completing your first Summer Road Trip Fortnite quest will grant you “The Zephyr Song” jam track from The Red Hot Chili Peppers, finishing four of them will unlock the Sunset Vibes wrap, and completing six quests grants The Quack Axe.

The Fortnite path to the Corvette ZR1

On the Fortnite side of things, it’s actually pretty simple. There will be eight quests in all. Four to gain 80,000 XP, while in a party, in Epic-created Fortnite experiences like Battle Royale, Reload, Festival and so on. And four other quests to gain that amount of XP in user-created Fortnite Creative and UEFN islands, also while in a party. Any mode that isn’t found in the Epic section of Discovery is fair game for that one.

The quickest way to get the XP you need in user-made island is to make sure you still have daily quests available before jumping in, because the three daily quests will grant you 30,000 XP each time you earn 20,000 by playing. Completing two daily quests will get you enough XP to take care of each Summer Road Trip Creative quest.

One day one we got one quest for user-made modes, and one quest for Epic modes, and we’ll get one new one each day, alternating between the two types, until the last one lands on July 28. All these quests will remain available until the Summer Road Trip ends on August 7, which means you can save them all up and do them the day before the event ends if you want to. Complete all eight quests by then, and the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 is yours in both Fortnite and Rocket League.

The Rocket League quests actually have more enticing Fortnite rewards than the Fortnite quests do. Making 15 saves in online matches unlocks a player title for Rocket League and the Hairpin skin for Fortnite. And playing a private match with a mutator will grant a Fortnite glider that looks like a giant Rocket League ball.

If you’re looking for some guidance for breezing through these quests to unlock those items as quickly as possible, we’ve got a guide that should be very helpful. The Rocket League part of the Summer Road Trip event actually ends on August 4, a few days earlier than the Fortnite part.

The Rocket League path to the Corvette ZR1

The Rocket League side of the Summer Road Trip can be completed a lot more quickly than the Fortnite path can be, and it also has rewards that are arguably better than what you get on the Fortnite path.

In Rocket League, there are just two waves of quests–the first unlocked on July 22 when the event began, and the final quest will become available on July 28. The first set of quests is pretty simple:

  • Make 15 saves in online matches
  • Make 15 goals and in online matches
  • Make 15 assists or clears in online matches
  • Play a private match with at least one mutator

Completing all four of these quests will grant the ZR1 wheels. The final quest, which unlocks on July 28, will require you to play five online matches, in a party, with the ZR1 wheels equipped. Once you’ve done that, you’ll get the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 car body in both Rocket League and Fortnite.
