Henry Cavill Is Not A Fan Of Sex Scenes And Believes “They’re Overused These Days”

Henry Cavill, best known for his role as Superman in the DCEU and The Witcher in the Netflix series, has stated that he’s “not a fan” of sex scenes in moves and believes they’re overused.

In an interview with Josh Horowitz, Cavill explained how he believes it’s best not to show characters having sex on screen because “the human imagination” is a lot better than what would play out on screen.

“I don’t understand them–I’m not a fan,” Cavill expressed. “There are circumstances where a sex scene actually is beneficial to a movie, rather than just the audience, but I think sometimes they’re overused these days.”

Cavill continued by saying sometimes they’ll have a sense of where they’re going and ask themselves, “Is this really necessary, or is it just people with less clothing on?” He then went on to explain sometimes sex scenes do nothing to push the plot forward and how they can be awkward to film.

“And that’s when you start to get more uncomfortable, and you’re thinking, ‘There’s not a performance here. There’s not a piece which is going to carry through to the rest of the movie.'”
