Elden Ring: Nightreign‘s The Forsaken Hollows expansion launches on December 4, and fans should prepare themselves for a challenge–but nothing too extreme. Elden Ring and Nightreign are known for being challenging endeavors, and that will continue with The Forsaken Hollows.
Game director Junya Ishizaki told GameSpot that From Software didn’t want the expansion to be “so hard that new players can’t get into it.” However, people should not expect to breeze through it.
“[The Forsaken Hollows is] definitely a little bit harder, but it’s not ridiculous or anything like that, but that’s still within what we would consider to be a fair challenge,” the developer said.
“I think [we want our] ideas when we’re working on the DLC content to be a reflection of that. So whenever people who have played the main game extensively go into the DLC content, they’ll be able to have a bit of that feeling like they had when they first played Nightreign, where there’s still a bit that they’re trying to figure out,” Ishizaki said.

The paid expansion arrives on December 4, or as early as December 3 depending on where you live and what platform you’re playing on. Check out The Forsaken Hollows launch times to learn exactly when you can start playing.

What is The Forsaken Hollows?
The Forsaken Hollows is a paid expansion to Nightreign, itself a standalone multiplayer co-op action game developed by From Software. The expansion adds new bosses and a “Shifting Earth” feature that makes the map receive “massive geographical changes.” Two new Nightfarers are included in the expansion, as are new points of interest in Limveld.
The Forsaken Hollows is included with Elden Ring Nightreign’s Deluxe and Collector’s Editions, while everyone else has to buy it separately for $15 USD.
