Ahead of its release later this month, Capcom has launched a character creator for Dragon’s Dogma 2. Using this tool, prospective players will be able to create their own custom Arisen protagonist and Pawn, and these creations can be imported into the full game. Up to five Arisen and five Pawns can be created, allowing players to get right into their adventure when the game launches on March 22. If you’re interested, you can try out the character creator through the following links:
This is an in-depth character, and you’ll be able to fine-tune a lot of the physical features of your Arisen. You can alter muscle mass and slap on a trendy hairstyle to create the Derek Zoolander of wizards–but why male mages?–or you can court controversy with the cereal giants by creating your very feline powerhouse.
Capcom also announced that Pawns created by “renowned content creators” will be available for other players to employ during the course of their quest, but the company hasn’t yet confirmed which of these influencers will be involved.
If you’re planning to play Dragon’s Dogma 2 on PC, you can save big on your copy of the standard or deluxe edition. Capcom’s first game priced at $70, Fanatical is offering the standard edition for $57.40 and the deluxe version for $65.90 (normally $80).
“Based on the three hours I played at a preview event, Dragon’s Dogma 2 is very much an extension of everything the first game accomplished 12 years ago,” Kurt Indovina wrote in GameSpot’s Dragon’s Dogma 2 preview. “It’s an open-world fantasy RPG, mixed with cool-as-hell action combat, and giant mythical monsters to cling onto, with its unique player-created pawn companion system as a centerpiece. It’s all still there from a gameplay perspective, so the most standout change is the RE Engine-powered makeover that aims to place the series’ core values in the best possible light.”
