In 2017, Trinket Games launched Battle Chef Brigade, a game that mixed puzzle mechanics with side-scrolling brawling that was published by now-defunct label Adult Swim Games. Today, during the Future Of Play Direct, the studio announced its next project, a story-focused RPG called Battle Suit Aces.
Battle Suit Aces features a card-based battle system, with cards themed around giant mecha called “battle suits.” Each of the 30 unique suits can be upgraded throughout the adventure, and players will be able to preset loadouts of five suits at a time before jumping into battle.
Players will join one of five different factions throughout the story, with the experience varying based on the chosen faction. The Hunters Guild, for example, specializes in fighting, while the Suitsmiths are proficient in building and upgrading mechs.
The story will feature “more than 50 plot-driven and character-focused missions,” with over 50 fully-voiced characters to interact with throughout. A suite of accessibility options will also be available at launch, including colorblind mode, text resizing, and controller remapping.
No specific launch timing or platforms were announced for Battle Suit Aces, but a Steam page for the game is live now.
